Food Safety Summit Solutions - Presentation
How technology is enabling integration of operations and the laboratory while improving food safety culture.
The unprecedented challenges facing today’s food manufacturer's are requiring new solutions in all areas of the operational environment. These new solutions require the embracing, adoption, and practical implementation of new technology. Many of these principles, such as Lean Six Sigma, have been applied successfully in the operational environment in order to achieve higher production and lower production costs.
However, traditionally the food safety laboratory or third party laboratory, to many organization is a line item that is easily scrutinized. This view has stifled investment in innovation and in many cases has created a gap in the lean processing and technology between the lab and operations which can create inefficiency, additional costs, & a reduction in prevention control. By applying new technology and automation this chasm can be overcome and a synchronous Food Safety and Manufacturing organization can achieve both an improved Food Safety culture and better economics.
This presentation will discuss these challenges as well as provide case study examples in both the laboratory and the operations side of what adoption of technology can accomplish.
